Kaja felt compelled to blurt the whole truth right there, with other commoners staring at them. But she couldn't. She had a commitment to the band. She dare not abandon all the things she had worked for. All the people she had suffered to make safe.
So she just gave a small bit of truth. "Same goes for commoners. The more they pick on us, the more we resist. Don't tell me that you haven't noticed some of your spirits rebelling?"
She rose a skeptic eyebrow at the demon, completely indignant that she hadn't notice the blood that coated her, the person she was talking to, before she had noticed some blood on another commoner.
The more she thought about it, the more the reality of the fact that she should be in pain hit her. And finally, the pain itself hit.
A wildfire of agony raced from her arm up to her shoulder and spread in tingling torture throughout her whole body. Her nose ached like it had...well...been broken.
She suddenly felt a compelling urge to sit down. And then the urge to lay down. Her tush hit the ground heavily. A jolt went up her spine but she ignored it, concentrating on staying upright.
Finally she sighed and answered the demon's implied question. "I don't have lenses on. I don't have any training in magic for that matter." She was not in the mood for conversation but felt she owed the demon. "A small group of commoners is rebelling. I am their leader." She unintentionally sat straighter, squared her shoulders and tilted her chin at a proud angle.
"Before the old leader resigned he gave me a bit of training. I was trained to spot demons. My magic resistance is at a high degree, and that helps me fend off any attacks they throw at me."
She had an idea, just to show the extent. She stood, slightly swaying, and said in a stronger voice that belied her battered body. "I wasn't kidding before. I said give me your best shot. C'mon. Hit me with a detention, or whatever you call those things!" She gave a wicked grin to the demon.
"And whenever you report back to your master, give him a fgriendly little punch in the face from Kaja." She smiled sweetly, waiting for the demon to respond or hit her with some kind of magic.

Kyoko slowly shook her head, her short black hair bobbing back and forth with each motion. She couldn't believe what she was hearing! "So your the leader of the Rebels?" she asked slowly. She had heard a very little about the Rebels, but it was a shock to find out that this young girl was the leader.
It took Kyoko a litle bit to register anything past 'leader of the rebels', and was angered when she realized that the commoner was insulting her by inferring she had a master.
"I'm a free spirit," she almost hissed, forgetting about her other question, "I refuse to be 'owned' by another!"
Slowly the demon sighed, calming herself. She felt guilty, yelling at the injured girl. She wasn't concerned about the Rebel Leader before, for she seemed much stronger than the other commoner, but now that she was on the ground she realized that she had to do somthing for her.
"Let me help you," she finished, " Your in no condition to get anywhere. I can take you both wherever you wish, think of it as a trade for hurting you."
She stepped forward and reached out her hand to help the girl up. "By the way, you can call me Kyoko."

Alexandria looked at Kaja and the the demon Kyoko. She forced a little smile and said " I'm Alexandria." Her pale skin and black hair made her look like a ghost in this dark world. The pain in her arm gotten to a yelling level but kept shut. She never showed pain if she could help it. She hated to show weak.

Kaja was feeling dizzy now. Not that she hadn't been feeling that way before, but now it was staggering. It was slightly offending that this demon didn't believe she was the leader.
She hardened her jaw and said through clenched teeth. "What? Don't you believe me?" A sneer set itself upon her face and from the corner of her eyes she saw that Alexandria was as pale as a ghost. And it wasn't just her complexion. The poor girl was pallid.
A cold sweat hit her hands. A bead of it trickled down from her brow, stinging her eye. A hot, dry breeze picked up, feeling her face with its curious, shapeless tendrils.
It helped her get herself back under control. She stood, even though her legs felt like jelly. "Look here demon. Don't you dare tell me you aren't summoned by a magician. I'm not a brainiac when it comes to magic but I know this: demons do not come to this word willingly. So unless you're some wonky mutant...thing...you are here by a magician's order."
Now that she got the attention she wanted nothing of it. She shook her head, refusing the spirit's offer. She knew that she was probably stronger than most girls her age. Heck, she was probably stronger than most of the guys too.
So in a much softer voice she said. "I've been trained for this too. Thanks but no thanks." She turned to look back at Alexandria. "Do you need any help? I can get you home if you want."

Alexandria looked at Kaja "No I'm fine." She said trying to stand up. When she finally stud up she felt a little better. She took a breath and smiled "Yeah I'm okay." She looked at Kyoko and Kaja. Feeling much better than before she started to walk over to Kaja.

Kyoko retreated her hand and gave a small sigh. The Earth-spikes turned to dirt as she cleared her mind, trying to calm herself down. "I do believe that you are leader of the Rebels. It makes sense, after all that i've seen today." she offered. Kyoko ran her hand through short, black hair. That was something she tended to do when she became flustered. She tried to explain, "I'm not owned by a magician, nor do I ever hope to be! Unlike others, I like to watch you humans go about your daily lives. You do some strange things sometimes..."
The demon left off there, pretty sure that the girl still did not get it. She backed up a few steps, and inclined her head slightly. "It was...pleasent, meeting you two. If you ever need anything, just call my name. If I'm in the near-area, I will come. Then we'll be even." she said. At her last sentence, she brought her head up and gave the girls a wink. With that, the tabby kitten was gone.

Alexandria smiled Cool! I made friends with a demon! She turned to Kaja not knowing what to do now. She never really knew that Kaja was the leader of the rebels she thought that was cool. Then she turned her home was the Nile she loved it there it was peaceful at times.
