Welcome Home;;
Meet Anju, a 15 year old girl. She looks like an average girl. Besides the fact that she has cat ears, cat eyes, and all the sense like a cat. Of course she hasn't always been like this! This young girl was stolen from her village, just like many children, when she was very young, and was experimented on, just like a rat. Out of almost all the children they experimented on in her village, she was one of the lucky ones to have survived it all. But what was the reward? Being half cat, and not having any family going back to, since they thought she was dead. She became a human weapon for the military, used for killing.
So with sin I condemn you;;
A small framed girl with short silver hair, looked out of the small window in her drafty, empty dorm. She looked as if she was thinking of a memory from long ago. Biting her lip she turned away from the small window. She dropped her box that she was holding on the ground. She looked around her new dorm. She liked her old one better, it was at least a little more cozy. She had nothing in her new dorm except the box that she had set down on the ground. The girl sighed, while scratching the back of her neck, she had no idea what to do now. The military men who said they would help her move her stuff into her new dorm still haven't came yet. She frowned, and plopped herself on the ground and scooted across the wooded flooring until she reached the wall. The girl set her back to the wall, and closed her eyes, and flicking her black cat ears every time she hear someone walking past the door to her dorm. Then she noticed some loud footsteps stopping by her door. She opened one of her eyes, but didn't get up.
Finally after hearing a familiar voice, and some knocking at the door she finally got up. Walking over to the door, she opened it up, and saw Jack, a boy who was from another village close to the girl's. He is of course part dog. They said he wasn't exactly a flaw. But he didn't have enough dog in him, or human to be a weapon in war. But they kept him here in the military.
Jack grinned at the girl happily, "Hi, Anju! We got your stuff!" he yelled happily. Behind him were a couple of military men, who probably had nothing to do so were helping.
Anju looked at Jack, and just waved at the idiotic boy. She didn't like him one bit, and if she had figured out that he was going to be helping out then she would have done it herself! She started to mumble, "Yeah, well you can just put all the stuff in and I'll figure out where it goes..." she was going to add, 'It'll get YOU away from me quicker.' but decided to just keep that in her mind.
"Aww, Anju, it sounds like you're not happy to see me!" Jack whined to Anju, his blue eyes watering a little. Making Anju feel bad for Jack a little. But when he saw Anju looking guilty he grinned and jumped around with the box he had in his arms, "But all well! I love you still Anju!" he yelled happily, which made Anju totally regret feeling bad for him.
;;;
All of the heavy furniture that she could not pick up and move was moved to where she wanted. All there was to do now was to get all the stuff from the boxes and place there where she needed to. She was just glad that it was almost all done. She turned most of the men had left, the only one there now was Jack. She turned to him, a little frown on her face. He just smiled back. "Jack, your done working here, don't you have something else to work on? Like....cleaning? Or something away from me?" she hissed at him.
Jack looked heartbroken, "Aww, but you're my friend, right? I can help you with unpacking all the boxes right?" he said happily looking at Anju with bright pleading eyes.
Anju looked at Jack, he just wouldn't leave her alone, would he? She frowned more, about to yell no! But sighed, "Okay, as long as you don't trip and break something like last time."
Jack beamed, and grinned even more, "I promise I won't!"
Anju sighed, and walked over to one of the boxes. Her pale green eyes looking bored. She started to search through the box, until she found a little bracelet. It had little colored shells on it, one blue, another green, and so one. And it looked like it would fit a four year olds hand. Her eyes dimmed, and they looked like she was in another world.
"Anju," Came the voice of her mother, "C'mere! I have a present for you!"
Anju, who had been on the ground play with a little bug, got up. Her pretty pale green eyes shining happily, as she ran to her mother. Her mother was so pretty, long silver hair, and silver eyes, and so young, only about 23. She had to raise her and her twin brother alone, since their father had died. But everyone who looked at little Anju always said that she would grow up to look just like her mother! The only thing she got from her father was his eyes. When Anju reached her mother, she looked up at her, wondering what she got her.
Her mother kneeled, to where she was staring at Anju eye to eye. She smiled at Anju, and took Anju's four year old hand, and grabbed a little string, that had little colored shells on it. She tied it around her wrist. "There, now you'll have a little piece of me where ever you go!" Her mother said happily as she hugged Anju. "My mother made me one when I was your age too." Anju smiled up at her mother happily, and started to running around giggling. She had to show her bug friend!
"Anju? Hey Anju, are you okay?" Came the voice of Jack. He poked her face, making her jump.
Anju quickly put the bracket in her pocket, and said, "I'm fine.."
Jack stared at Anju, "Oh, are you sure? Because you didn't look good a while ago.." he said, with concern in his voice.
Anju looked back at Jack, and hissed, "I'm fine."
Jack looked at Anju, his face showed that he was not convinced. He sighed, and started to put up all of the stuff in his box that he had.
Anju sighed, and started to sort through the box she had. But after a while she asked Jack, "Why are we here, again?"
Jack looked back at Anju like she was crazy, "Because they made you move dorms, for the new recruits. You should be happy this is a pretty cool dorm! Mines just a small room with a bathroom and thats all!"
Anju frowned, "No, I mean here as in the military. We're just teenagers, we should still be living at home, causing trouble, not being the one stopping it, and used to for a weapon." she said hatefully.
Jack didn't lose a bit of his happy tone of voice when he spoke, "Because they stole us from our villages, tested on us like animals and made us this way. Thats why." he said, still sorting through the boxes.
Anju looked at Jack in surprise, "You sound as if you are happy to be used, and not being able to see your family because they think you are dead."
Jack smiled as he looked at Anju, "Because I am mostly happy that they took me away from my village. I hated it there. I didn't even have a family. They probably didn't want me and so they just left me there on the streets, because thats all I remember living. I may be a dog, thats loyal and a pain-in-the-ass but at least I'm alive, and still kicking, so I really can't say anything."
Anju closed her eyes, as she listened to what Jack was saying, and after he was done, she muttered, "I see." And kept working on sorting through her boxes, and putting everything where it should be.
Demon Play, Demon Out!;;
"No! I promise, I won't disobey the government again! I promise! Please don't kill me! I have a wife and kid back home, I can't leave them!" Screams a man.[/font]
Anju just stared at the man with a blank stare. But inside, she felt really bad for the guy. But she heard her commander yell, "Well, what are you waiting for, Anju? Kill him. that's your job."
Anju walked over to the man, and with one of her claws that she has, that can be fingernails, but can be claws at any moment she wants. With one quick swipe she tore a deep wound into the man's throat. While whispering, "I'm sorry." to the man. She then turned around, and walked away from the man who was dying. She walked down the hall, frowning. Why did she have to kill him? All those men were perfectly capable of killing him. But no, she had to, a 15 year old girl. She heard running footsteps coming her way; she looked out of the corner of her eye to see Jack running toward her.
"Hey, Anju! Wait up!" he called out to her. But Anju just tried to ignore him. He kept running toward her, and when he was close to her, he tripped. He was just about to fall on her when Anju swiftly scooted away from Jack, so he fell head first on the ground.
"Stupid dog." she muttered under her breath. She looked at Jack like he was stupid, which he pretty much was. "What do you want, Jack?" she asked him in an annoyed voice.
Jack slowly got up from the ground, his face still bright, and he had a grin on his face. "Someone wants to talk to you!" he said happily. He jump up from the ground and grabbed Anju's wrist and started to drag her off in the opposite way she was going. She didn't even have time to say anything! Which did make her mad.
She pulled away from Jacks grasp, but still followed him, "Where are we going? Most of the commanders are the other way!" she told Jack, glaring at him.
Jack smiled and turned to Anju, "That’s because we are not going to any of them!"
Anju stared at Jack dumbfounded. She didn't even know what to say. So stayed silent. She noticed that they were by all the new recruits dorms were. She noticed that Jack knocked on one of the doors at the end. She walked and stood right next to him. Wondering what was going on.
Finally a girl with brown hair opened the door. She didn't looked surprised to see them. The girl smiled, "Oh! Anju, Jack! You came, come on in!" she said happily and dragged both Jack and Anju inside the dorm.
Anju, who was still totally confused about all of this, sat down on the couch. She frowned and crossed her arms. "Alright, what’s this all about, seriously?" she said in a hateful tone. Glaring at both Jack and the other girl. Only then did she notice that the girl had white long wings on her back.
The girl looked back at Anju with adventurous eyes. "We're gunna break out of here." she said with a grin. Anju stared at the girl like she was crazy. "Who, are you?" she asked slowly.
The girl grinned more, "My name is Maylin." she started to say happily, "I, as you two, was tested on by the government and now I am part bird. I hate it here, I want to go back to my family, and I met Jack, he said that we all could probably escape. But it will take much planning, and determination. If you don't want to go with the plan then don't. But don't you want to get away from this place?" the girl said to Anju.
Anju looked back at the girl, "Yes, I want to get away from this place, but I don't have anywhere else to go, I don't have a family anymore. They think I'm dead, and there’s no use going back now, they will all think I'm a monster." she hissed at the girl.
Jack looked at Anju like nothing was wrong, "Anju, you got me! I don't have a family to go home too! We can travel the world!" he said obnoxiously.
Anju glared at Jack, "Yeah..no." she said back to him. Which made Jack sad. "But I hate this place as much as you," she said looking at the girl, "So I'll help."
Jack and Maylin grinned at Anju, happy that she was going with them. Maylin jumped up and put her fist out in the air "Yeah! We start planning immediately!"
;;;
Anju, Maylin, and Jack were lying outside, by the old oak tree. Anju was staring up at the sky, with her green eyes showing that she was in deep thought, while the other two were laughing, and talking. Anju didn't know what to say to them, she just wasn't the type of girl who could start conversations or have a conversation with someone.
"I wonder if my parents miss me...” Maylin said aloud. She sat up, and looked at both Jack and Anju.
Jack, who already was sitting up, was about to say something nice but Anju butted in.
"They probably did but they think you are dead. Going back looking like that would just freak them out." Anju said, not even looking at Maylin. She just kept her eyes on the sky.
Jack gave Anju a little shocking glance as if to say, 'Don't say that!'
Maylin glared at Anju, "Why do you always think of nothing more than the negative of everything! Why can't you be nicer?" she yelled at Anju.
Anju, who didn't lose her cool at all, stated simply, "Okay, you want nice?" she said, still not looking at the girl, "Oh, Maylin, they love you so much, they wouldn't care one bit if you had wings, and is part bird! Then finally your life will be the same exact way it used to be before you were stolen from your home!" Anju said in a fake happy voice. Which of course everyone knew was fake.
Jack was about to say something, when both Anju, and Maylin cut him off, and yelled at him, "Don't interfere!" And he just sunk back away from the scary girls.
Anju glared at Maylin, while she still had her head still looking up at the sky. Maylin you could tell, was just boiling with rage as she stared at Anju.
Then suddenly when Maylin was about to yell at Anju again, the intercom came on.
"All Human Weapons report to the meeting room.. NOW."
Leaping to her feet, Anju left both Maylin and Jack sitting there on the ground. She started to walk back inside the command center, her hands in her pockets as she looked very bored. She noticed many of the people there looked scared. She wondered what had happened. When she had reached the meeting room, her commander was there, and then she noticed that Maylin was there too, but not Jack. Then she remembered that he was not a weapon, because he was a flaw.
"Some citizens, have told the government about us. The government already knows whats going on here, but they threaten to tell everyone on us. We could have just shot them down, and we did, but others know. They had told news reporters, and everything." he said to them all once everyone had entered.
"Does that mean we're getting freed?" Maylin's small voice came from the back.
The man shot up and glared at Maylin, but muttered, "Yes. Most of you."
Anju's eyes opened wide, "Most of us?" she hissed, "What do you mean?"
"We're keeping some. All of you, who came, can go. But the ones who are not human weapons are going to stay here. And they will keep doing what they have been." he said in a mean voice. "So pack what you want. And get the hell out of here."
One voice came up, "But, what are we going to do?" Anju turned to see it was Sinopa, a girl who was crossed with a fox.
"I don't know, and I don't care." he said, and then turned around to look out the window behind him. "Now all of you, get out of my sight."
Anju gritted her teeth, and clinched her fists as she whipped around to leave the room. As she was walking out she could hear people muttering, mostly about how they were all getting out of here, and what they should do. But one wasn't like that.
"Heh, we're going to be out of here, and that stupid dog will be here. Oh well. Once I'm gone, I'll cause hell. No regular person can ever lay a scratch on me!"
Anju looked out of the corner of her eyes to see Zev there. Zev was the oldest; he was around 21, and one of the most scariest guys you will ever meet. He was crossed with a wolf, and every one of the human weapons was terrified of him so much they just listened to whatever he had to say, and didn't ever oppose him. Zev noticed that Anju was staring at him.
He grabbed her tightly by her shoulders, and loomed over her, his eyes shining as if he would kill her. "I saw you glaring at me. You little cat. I noticed that you've been hanging around that stupid dog. Don't tell me you're going to miss him when we leave? Do you have feeling for him, huh? I bet you do." he laughed at what he said, and his fingers dug into her shoulders until Anju screamed in pain.
"Shut up. You're practically a dog too." she hissed at him, baring her fangs.
All Zev did was smirk, "At least," he growled, "I'm not a flaw." and then threw her against the wall.
Anju glared at Zev as he turned away laughing. She saw most of the people staring at her in shock. She noticed that Jack was one of them staring at her in shock. She looked away, and placed her hand on her shoulder, and noticed that there was blood. She sighed. She was getting out of here. She was a cat, she was an independent person, and the military had a big grip of her as if she was a house cat.
Most of the people were starting to leave, and walk to their rooms to get their things, and then there was only Maylin and Jack there. Anju still didn't look at them. She just stared down at the ground.
Maylin finally spoke up, "Well, I have to get my things." she said and turned around, heading to her dorm. Leaving Jack and Anju by themselves.
Jack looked at Anju with sad eyes, "Why did you take that? And you let him hurt you.. Because of me.." he said with a soft, yet sad voice.
Anju didn't look at Jack, her hair in her eyes. She didn't know what to tell him. So she didn't answer him.
"You're also leaving with the rest of them. Aren't you?" he said looking down at her.
Anju didn't answer.
He looked at her, and then fell to his knees. "I don't want to be alone again.." he whispered to her.
Anju looked at Jack, "You're not going to be alone." she muttered, "Because I'm breaking you out."
Hold On To the Glory At My Right Hand;;
Anju looked from side to side. She had only brought one bag with her, because she didn't want to lug around stuff when she traveled. Her pale green eyes gleaming as she stood in front of the place where she had spent most of her life, since she was four. She heard footsteps coming toward her, and out of the corner of her eyes she saw a girl with wings. She frowned.
"What are you doing?" Maylin asked Anju, her arms crossed.
Anju closed her eyes and stuck up her nose, "Standing." she replied.
Maylin stood silent for a minute before a wide grin came on her face, "Who knew a cat and a dog could have such a wonderful relationship!" she shouted happily spinning around in circles around Anju. While Anju looked as if she was going to kill her.
Anju started to smile evilly, showing sharp teeth, "Ah, yes, but don't you know that cats eat birds?" then she grabbed Maylin's arm, and dug her nails in.
"AHH! Okay, okay, I'll shut up!" Maylin yelled, and tried to pull away from Anju.
Anju let go of Maylin's arm, and then whispered, "Are you going to help me or not?"
Maylin rolled her eyes, "Of course!"
Anju smirked, "Good."
;;;
The night was upon them as Anju snook across the fence of the military base. Of course, unseen. Her pale green cat eyes were all you could see as she ran. above her, she saw Maylin there, on the other side of the fence, her wings were spread out wide. She could have flow, but of course she would have been shot down.
Anju then jumped down from the wall, and grabbed Maylin's arm, and jumped back up.
Letting go of Maylin's Anju whispered, "Alright, lets go." under her breath, and then jumped down from the wall. She then looked around for a window. Finally finding one, she jumped onto the ledge, and with her new claws, she scratched a hole big enough for her and Maylin to fit through. She jump into the building. She noticed it was the hallway when she jump in. She frowned, but then realized that Jack's room was around here.
She didn't even wait for Maylin, she just started to slowly walk, looking around to see if anyone has spotted her or Maylin. Finally she reached Jacks room. She picked the door lock on there, and noticed him sleeping. She pulled him up, and hissed, "Come on you stupid dog! Get up!"
Jack of course jumped up, and was about to yell something when Anju slapped her hand to his mouth, "Shh! Do you want to be caught!?" Jack just stared at Anju with shock still. Anju had hair falling into her eyes and she whispered, "I said I was going to break you out of here, right?"
Jack grinned, and then grabbed something and put it in his pocket. Then looked at Anju like 'what now?'
Anju started to walk out of the room, only to see a man holding on Maylin's arm. She gritted her teeth.
"They said if they saw any of you guys, to kill them." he said in an evil tone as he gripped Maylin's arm.
"Son of a-" Anju was yes about to cuss at him, when someone grabbed her shoulder. She turned to see a man with a white coat on, look down at her.
She elbowed the man in the stomach, before grabbing Jacks arm, and running. As she was running she kicked the man holding Maylin, and grabbed Maylin's arm as he let got to hold his stomach. She didn't know where to do now. She had forgotten where she had cut the window! She just trusted her instincts and headed way more down the hallway. She had never been down here. But as she kept walking down, she noticed that there was no more doors. Just blank white wall. Then her eyes widen. She remembered this hall. The blank walls, and the bright light, as she was drug in further, by the men in white. She gritted her teeth, and closed her eyes. She couldn't turn back. She could tell that she was being chased.
She opened her eyes again, with determination in them now. She just had to keep going forward! She noticed a black door there. And her mind was flashing back to when she was dragged through the black doors. Her screams filled the whole entire base. But, no one listened. No one cared. If they did they would have saved her.
"NO! Mommy, help me! Where are you?" Anju's little voice yelled, as the men in white dragged her down the bright, white hallway. She kicked, and screamed, but none of it was doing any good at the moment. "Mommy!" she yelled one last time as she was being pulled to the black door. And as the door shut. You heard nothing...but silence.
Anju heard Jack whimper a little, as they approached the door. She looked out of the corner of her eye to see Maylin dimmed out with her own experience there, like Anju did.
She narrowed her eyes, and kept running, even though Jack and Maylin seemed heisited. Anju just gripped tighter to their arms.
She pushed open the door, and flew in. She tried not to look around. It just gave her the painful memories. She hadn't been here since when she was tested on. But, she was back now. She saw the blood stained floor. She looked up, and noticed that she was now, sanding in front of stairs. She never noticed them when she was here last time. But she was also four and was scared to death. She just frowned, and started to walk down the stairs.
"No! I don't want to go down there!" came the shaky voice of Maylin.
Anju closed her eyes, and stuck her nose up, "Fine, you can stay there and get killed by them! I'm going forward! There must be some way out." she hissed, and let go of Maylin's arm. Then started to walk again. Jack followed Anju, but stayed silent.
Anju noticed that Maylin had muttered something, and had followed after them.
Anju felt as if they weren't alone down here, as she walked down the long dark stairway. She frowned, but kept walking. Her eyes darting from side to side. The more she walked, the more her heart raced. She glared at herself. Then she noticed that she still had a grip on Jack's arm. She let go, and noticed that they were almost at the end of the stairs. When they finally reached the end of the stairs, there was another door. But this door, had the scent of blood, and despair on it.
Be True that this is No Option;;
Jack gripped Anju's arm, "I don't want to go in there.." he whispered.
Anju didn't want to go in there either, she was about to say something, when she heard talking from up the stairs. She frowned, "Well I guess we're going in there anyway." she hissed. And grabbed Maylin's arm, and opened the door with her open hand. Then grabbed Jacks. She stepped in, but when she realized what was inside. She wanted to just run out. She froze, and her eyes were wide with fear.
What Anju saw before her, was...terrible. Bloodstain walls, and floor. The dark room was full of bodies of children. Most, failures of the experiments.
No..What did I just do? I can't believe what the did! I-i can't even move! This is horrible! I could have ended up like this..I could be here! This is just-
"Fantastic, isn't it?" Anju was too caught up in her own fear, and thoughts to heard them walk down the stairs and up to them.
She looked in the corner of her eyes to she the man in white there. She was shaking with rage. She just wanted to kill this man, but she stood still, holding onto Maylin and Jacks arm. But she could sense the fear in them too.
"This...is horrible." she hissed, her eyes set on the ground, and her whole body shaking with rage. "They-"
"Were nothing but failed test subjects." the man stated simply. And then she noticed a evil grin come on his face. He shut the door.
Anju's eyes widen ever more, as she noticed a click of a lock. She closed her eyes. But she heard a voice, "You're not the only things, that are alive in that room." Then she heard the mans footsteps walking away from the door, and up the stairs.
She gritted her teeth.
"I told you! I told you! I told you! I said we should go down here, and now look! We're stuck! We're going to die down here!" Maylin's cries made even Anju flinch back a little.
Anju's hair was in her face once more, as she whispered, "I'm sorry."
"Sorry is not good enough!" Maylin yelled at Anju, pulling her arm away from the girl.
"Shut up, Maylin." Anju and Maylin's eyes widen, and looked at Jack in shock. Jack of course looked older than he usually looked, and looked-well..Pissed.
"She was only trying to help us get away from them. She had no idea what would be down here, none of us did! But, that man said that we were the only living things here.. What does he mean." his blue eyes full of hatred, but then sadness at the same time.
Anju was about to say something, when she heard footsteps, with some whispering. She gasped and turned to where she heard it. She noticed a little boy came out of hiding. His eyes full of confusion. The boy has clothes that were very big on him. And bandages all over his face. Only showing one of his silver eyes. Then she noticed another come out. this one a girl. With stitches around her neck, as if her head was cut off. She had happiness in her eyes though when she saw them.
She ran up to them, "Come, come! Miss Kimo would be happy to see you! Yes! She would, right?" the girl’s words were bright. Even though, there were dead bodies of children all around them.
Anju stared at the two little kids. The little girl just looked back up at them with happy eyes. Then she grabbed Anju and Jacks hand. "Come! Come!" she said happily.
The boy looked up at Maylin, and then grabbed her hand and was dragging her along. But his eyes were nothing but full of emotionless pain.
"Hey..! Wait one second!" Anju started to say, and pulled away from the little girl. But the girl just turned back, her eyes full of sadness. Anju sighed, and kept walking.
Anju looked around as she walked, and noticed that there was more little children like them around. She knew that this was something that those scientists did. She gritted her teeth more, and kept walking.
"Umm...Well what’s going on here?" Jack asked, while he was still being pulled by the girl.
The girl looked at Jack from the corner of her eyes. "Miss Kimo will explain everything to you." she said in a quieter voice. But then she asked, "You all were tested on by the scary people in white, right?"
Jack nodded his head, "Yeah, we all were."
Anju looked and noticed a smile on her face.
"You must not have been failures; you came from the other side, right?"
Jack was about to say something, when Anju cut in, "Yeah. And who is this Miss Kimo, lady?" she asked.
The girl just smiled more, not affected by Anju's cold voice. "She was one of the first like us! Shes the oldest too. She’s nice!"
Anju just stared at the girl like she was crazy. But then they entered something like looked like a camp. There was no more dead bodies, but the stench of death was still everywhere. She would hate to live here. And she refused to stay here! If there was no exit, she would make one!
She looked around, still wondering, who was that Miss Kimo girl? And where was she?
"Come, come! This way!" The girl said in a whisper and started to drag them into the heart of the camp. Anju felt as if all these eyes were staring at her. She tried to ignore everyone who was staring at her. She just kept looking forward. But with her hearing, she could hear them whispering.
"Who are they?"
"What do they want?"
"Oh ho ho. Looks like the ones who survived got stuck here too."
Anju narrowed her eyes. But kept walking, she could tell that Maylin was acting the same way as she was. Even Jack, which was surprising.
Then, a girl with red hair walked into view. She didn't look very tall, or very big. But she looked as if she was wiser than a lot of grown adults.
"Selene? Who are they?" the girl asked in a calm voice.
"Me and Zay found them! They ran in here. I think because of the scary people in white! Anddddd," she said holding the and for a long time, "They aren't failures, and they came from outside of here!"
Anju frowned, "So, this is apparently, Miss Kimo? Or what?" she said in a hateful tone of voice. She didn't want to stand here any longer.
The girl smiled sweetly. "Hello, Anju." she said softly. Making Anju flinch back. "Ah, it seems after all theses years you have change tremendously. Well, I guess I have too." the small girl said. Her voice was very soft, and seemed flawless in words.
Anju stared at the girl. She didn't know what to say, she didn't know who this girl was. Or did she?
"You used to be such a nice little girl at our old village." the girl had her hair in her eyes as she spoke. The pushing her red hair out of her eyes, there was blue eye. A Green-Blue eye. The other.. Was covered in a bandage, and looked like half her face was sewed back on. Anju flinched...again.
"Anju! Come play with us!"
Anju had been sitting in a tree, looking down to tug at her bracelet her mother made her. But when she heard voices, she turned to see two little kids there looking up in the tree at her. She stared at them for a minute. One boy with brown hair and silver eyes. One girl with brown hair and green-blue eyes. She smiled when she realized who it was. "Okay!" she said happily, jumping down from the tree with no hesitation at all.
"What are we going to play today?" she asked in a small voice when she came over to them.
"Lets play tag! I'm the demon!" The little boy shouted happily. And then stared to chase Anju and his little twin sister. As they shouted and giggled happily as they ran away from him.
Anju shook as she slowly made out, "Lyn." she tried to steady her voice as she spoke, but it wasn't working out as planned.
And Who is The Greatest Sin?;;
Kimo beamed brightly as her old name was spoken. "As old friends, it makes me sad I have to do this. But, we're given orders. Children, go play with the animals’ here." the small girl said. Then, she turned around and entered a little hut looking thing.
Anju flinched, but gritted her teeth. What the hell did she mean by that? she thought to herself. Then she noticed most of the little kids coming toward them. There eyes bright, but with them, came the hint of murder.
"Don't you feel the power and the pleasure when you kill someone?"
"No."
"You're eyes don't tell that story."
Anju was about to run away, not even caring about Jack or Maylin. But someone grabbed her arm. She looked down to see that Zay boy staring up at her with his silver eye. "Lets play tag. I'll be the demon." he said in his childish small voice.
Anju felt a chill go all the way down her spine as the boy spoke. She shoved the boy away from here, "Get away from me!" she hissed at the boy.
But the boy didn't look heart broken; he didn't seem to be effected by her at all. He just beamed back up at her with happiness. But with that, was also the trace of murder in it. She started shaking.
"Let’s play, Anju. If you do not want to play tag, what about another game?"
"Shut up! Shut up! You're not Lynden! You're not!" She kept repeating what she was saying as she closed her eyes. And placed her hands over her ears. She didn't care what was happening to Maylin or Jack. She was too freaked out and shocked to care about anything.
"Of course I'm not. I am Zay now. But I still am Lynden at the same time....And someone else." the small boy said with a wicked look in his eyes. If she could see his whole face, he must have had a wicked smile on his face.
Anju shook her head, and then with her fingernails claws now, she slashed at the boys face. Her eyes closed. This isn't him! It can't be! Lynden would be around my age now. He looks like a little child, the same age as I was taken from my village.. then she stopped, her face pale. Then I wasn't the only one who was tested on... That means, Kyo might be here somewhere too! What if he's dead?!
She opened one eye to notice that she had cut the bandages lose on his face. Zay seemed to be in too much of shock to try to do anything to help the strips of bandage coming off his face. She was scared to see what his face looked like. But when all the bandages came off his face, he looked perfectly normal. But he was glaring at her now. And his other eyes wasn't silver...It was a pale green, just like hers. She stared at Zay for a minute, wondering what was going on. Then he spoke in a familiar voice.
"You shouldn't have done that, Anju." Zay's eyes were blaring with anger. Anju looked at Zay, confused. A lot. That voiced sounded familiar, and it wasn't Lynden’s.
Then, as if he made then appear out of no where, two throwing knifes were in his hand.
Anju looked at Zay for a minute with shock, and then he threw on at her. With lightning speed. But Anju, even being part cat, barely dodged it. She noticed now, at her side was a little wound, like the knife just barely grazed her. Instead of her normal, headstrongness. She did the most appropriate thing there was to do in the situation.
"Holy crap! Jack, Maylin! Run!" she yelled, and then started to push and made her way out of the crowd of kids. She turned, the kids were either staring at her, or Jack and Maylin. Anju gritted her teeth. They weren't going to get out of here... She frowned, and then, turned to see that it was the same hut thing that Kimo walked into! She clinched her fists, and then even while the kids were still staring at her, she started to walk toward the hut.
Finally she heard a kid say, "She's going to hurt Miss Kimo! Get her!" Then she noticed the children, with weapons in their hands now, coming toward her. She grinned, making her fingernails once more razor sharp claws; she waited for the children to come toward her. You would say, well, shes heartless for wanting to hurt little kids. But hey, that was Anju!
She sliced at the first child to approach her. She knew that this was the only way to get out of here. Alive. The child, even though had no arm now (Because of Anju) Just looked at her wickedly. He just grabbed his sword in his other hand and attacked again. Anju frowned. Why are they failures? They might be..a little creepy to look at but, they look like they are. Immortal.
"Anju, what is wrong with you? They all just want to play. They never get to see that many people. Why must you be mean to them?"
And of course, there walks out the pretty little Kimo. Anju frowned as she stared at Kimo. "Maybe because I want out of here." she hissed back at her.
"Why? Don't you like it here?"
"No, I don't like it here one bit."
Kimo looked like there was waterfalls coming down her eyes, "You're so mean!" she shouted.
Anju...just shrugged.
Jack and Maylin were just standing there staring at Kimo and Anju like they were stupid.
Anju just crossed her arms, "Can we just get out of here? There has to be a way out of here! And we will be out of your hair, and you can go off and kill other people." she said in an annoyed cold voice. As she rolled her eyes.
Kimo frowned. She made a sigal with her hands then turned around. "Come with me, you three." she said in a cold voice.
Anju noticed the children backing away from them all, and then she looked at Jack and Maylin and nodded her head. Then they all followed Kimo.
Once Anju entered, she noticed that it wasn't all that bad then she thought it was going to be. There was a bed, a little area with some books on the ground, and then what looked like a table by the wall. She notices a bloody needle there, along with some tape, some kind of string, and other medical stuff. Then she remembered when they were young that Lyn-Or Kimo, whatever. Wanted to be a doctor. She felt as if something had stabbed her in the heart when she looked at this, when she realized that Kimo would probably never get to be the doctor she wanted to be, because of the government.
Without looking at Kimo, she muttered, "Tell me everything that happened here."
Kimo seem to laugh a little. Well, it was more of a little chuckle. "Alright, I'll tell you."
"When we were taken away from our villages, we were the first to be tested on. They killed us before they even began testing on us though. Looking to see how our body worked, and the reactions to death. Then, as if they used some sort of injection, bring us back. So, they also made it to where we can never die. But we looked horrid, and they couldn't fix us. So, we are down here. Having to kill anyone who trespasses here. I-i know I'll never, ever have a normal life. But being like their mother is the most closest thing i have to being normal." she seem to have a little weak smile on her face as she spoke.
Anju didn't much care about that. She looked up at Kimo. "He's here, isn't he?" she said quietly. But you could see she was shaking.
"Who?"
"MY BROTHER. MY TWIN BROTHER!" She shouted glaring at Kimo.
She just stared back, already used to Anju and her screams and tantrums. "Yeah. He's here. If you haven't already notices, he is Zay. Him and Lynden were fused. Kyo's soul bonded into Lynden's body. But do not think he is the brother that you once knew. None of us are as we used to be." she said with a little glare in her eye.
Anju bit her lip. Wanting to punch Kimo, but she had to tell herself it wasn't the girls fault. Anju shook her head, "I just want to get out of here." she muttered. Then DING. An idea popped into her head. Kimo was about to say something, but Anju cut her off, "When does the door open? Do they like give you something to eat or what?"
Kimo blinked. And then answered slowly, "Well, yes sometimes they will come by and give us something to eat, and check up on us."
Anju smirked. "When do you think they will come again?" she asked.
"Umm, well, soon I suppose. Where are you getting at here?" she eyed her suspiciously.
Anju just smirked even more. But she wasn't going to tell her. She just wanted a time that they will come. "What time do you think they will come?" she asked.
Kimo frowned, "How should I know time?! We live underground with no clocks or anything!" she hissed.
Anju frowned, "Fine." Then walking out of the hut she head toward the exit of the little village looking thing full of immortal, EVIL, children. The children followed her. Not with the urge to kill her, but out of curiosity.
"Whatcha gonna do?" one asked while the others started to agree and ask her.
Anju just still had the obnoxious smile on her face as she came across the door. "Have you ever tried to face the men in white?" she asked them without looking at them.
"Huh? Why should we? They gave us somewhere to live!"
"So? They did that to me, but they treated me like an object, not a person. You all are...somewhat...human. You don't need to be treated like this."
She heard the voice of Zay speak up. So he did come. "Well, what should we be treated like? We look like monsters, and we could never, ever go out into the cities above. They would be scared of us. Besides, we are killers."
Anju smiled a little. "So am I. But I plan to live on the outside world. No matter what the normal humans say. They can run me out. I'll just have to deal with it. Because this is my life now."
They all seem to be quiet. And then as she pressed her cat ears to the door she heard footsteps.
Smirking she backed away from the door and signal the children to back away as well. Turning her nails into claws, she stared at the door, waiting for it to open.
Then finally it opened, showing bright, orange rays of light fill the place. She felt a little blinded by it. Since she was so used to the darkness now. But she just blinked, and shook away the pain in her eyes.
She saw him. The same man who locked her here. She quickly hide by the wall by the door. Where he couldn't see her.
"Hmm, hello children. Did you kill the three kids who came down here?" he asked in a happy, but a little annoyed voice. She nodded her head, hoping they would get it, and say yes.
They nodded their heads.
"Good." he said a little happier.
"You know? Some people are just soooo gullible." she said in a giggly voice. She walked out of where she was hiding. And he looked at her with shock.
"How did you-"
"Oh, I know some of these kids." she said still smiling.
"But-but they killed the others, right?"
"Hm, lets go with that."
Then smirking, she walked over to him, her claws shining in the rays of orange.
Somewhere Beyond Happiness and Sadness;;
Anju blinked as she stared at the kids and Kimo. Her hands were in her pockets, and Maylin and Jack stood beside her by the doorway.
"We can make it on our own right now. We still sorta like it now. But we promise no killing, if you don't kill either! They won't be pushing us around for a long time now." Kimo said with a smile on her face as she stared at the three.
Anju smiled, "Alirght, deal." she said and walked over to the red haired girl. And shook her head. "Maybe someday we'll see each other along the road." Anju said. "Goodbye, Kimo." she said with a smile as she turned around to walk back to her group.
"It’s Lyn." Kimo said with a little bit of amusement in her voice.
Anju smirked, and waved her hand, "Alright, Lyn."
"Lets, get going." she said to Jack and Maylin, who nodded their heads and started to follow after her.
"We still need to get away from the Military. No doubt they will try to kill us." Maylin said to Anju as she followed her up the steps.
Anju shrugged, "Oh well. A challenge." she said.
Jack whimpered again. Not wanting to go up there.
Anju just kept walking/running up the stairs. Pushing the door open, she noticed one person there. But didn't look like a scientist.
"Oh why hello, little kitty, stupid birdy, and useless doggy." she saw Zev there, smirking at them all.
Anju raised her eyebrow, "Little kitty?" she said in a bored, uncaring voice.
Jack and Maylin however, yelled the names that they were called, and looked pretty mad. Anju rolled her eyes. And SHE was supposed to be the one with anger issues.
"Hmm? Oh, I'm sorry, did I hurt your little feelings?" he said in an uncaring, but annoying voice.
She glared at him. "What do you want?" she hissed.
"Me? Oh nothing, just came here because I heard this place got broken into. Wanted to know if you were dead or not. Oh and also take over this place." he said with a smirk.
"Okay, go do so. Leave us out of it." she said and started to move away to the door that lead to the white hallway. But she was grabbed by the shoulder and pulled back roughly. Making her let out a little yelp. "Ohhh no you don't," he said with a smile on his face. "You're helping me talk to the kids back there." he said pointing at the door that lead to the stairs, that of course lead to the place where the immortal, children were. She gritted her teeth, wondering how he knew. "Some stupid scientist spilled everything to me."
Anju narrowed her eyes, "You aren't talking to them!"
"Oh really?"
Anju was then thrown very far, toward the door. And of course it was still slightly open from where she pushed it open. So she fell all the way down the stairs. Cussing the whole way down. "Ack!" she yelled, when she finally hit the bottom. She saw Jack look down at her from the top of the stairs, he yelled her name, but she was already blacking out. And then she heard him scream. But she really couldn't do anything. She slowly tried to stand up, but she couldn't. She just fell back in pain. She must have broken her leg while falling, no doubt one of her arms were broken too.
"Jack.." was all she could whisper when she blacked out.
;;;
She opened her eyes to see complete darkness. She slowly, and painfully sat herself up. She couldn't hear anything. She could barely see the light coming in from the other door at the top of the stairs. Was Maylin and Jack okay? She had to find out. Slowly pulling herself up by grabbing onto a crack in the wall, she limped up the stairs. Whispering Maylin's and Jack's name. But no answer. Her heart was racing.
Finally making it to the top of the stairs, she push the door open so she could make her way through. She noticed it was even dark in here. The must be a switch somewhere, right? She grabbed a hold of the wall sorta, and finally found it. Turning it on, she looked back. She noticed Zev there. She guessed dead, since he was laying on the ground not moving whatsoever. Shrugging, which of course hurt, she turned and noticed someone else laying on the ground. She had wide eyes when she saw it was Jack. He was barely breathing, but he looked so weak, and hurt. She totally forgot about her broken leg, and stepped wrong, making her fall. She decided to crawl, and slid over to Jack.
"Jack!" she yelled, shaking at his shoulders. He slightly opened his eyes.
"So I guess I wasn't dreaming." he weakly said, with a smile. But ended up cough a little.
She was already holding back the tears.
"Maylin is okay, if you are wondering, I told her to run, and I'd help you.. I guess I failed once again." he said, still smiling.
Anju was shaking, "Jack. I-"
"S'okay, I know I'm already going to die, so there is no need to help me." still, a smile was on his face.
She started to cry. Not caring if she was crying in front of him.
He seem to frown a little, he reached up with his hand slowly, and touch her cheek. He smiled, "No need to cry over a failure." he started to close his eyes once again, but she knew he wasn't going to open them again. Ever. She started to cry even more. "Jack.." she started to say, "Please.." she kept crying. Right now, she didn't care if she was caught at all. But after an hour, she knew she had to get out of there. She wiped her tears away with her arm, and slowly forced herself up, and grabbed a hold of the wall again and started to walk away from the room, but before she did, she looked back, whispering, "You weren't a failure to me. You were my friend. And I always really-" bursting into tears again, She shook her head, walking away.
And so their Happily Ever After was torn by the Fires of Hate;;
A couple of years later;;
The girl with silver hair smiled as she walked down the street. Not afraid anymore of what everyone thought of her. Anju, she couldn't remember the last time she heard herself, or anyone call her that. She was on her own now. Maylin went to her family, who even though knew she was half bird, accepted her back with open arms. Making her miss her own family. But she couldn't go back just yet. She wasn't ready.
Shoving her hands into her pockets, she looked around. She was at the right place, right? Takeshi? She knew it was close to her old village, but it was fine with her. She then heard the barking of a dog, and the laughter of children. She turned and noticed a dog, and three kids coming her way. She didn't have enough time to dodge the dog who tackled her and started to lick her face.
Instead of completely exploding, she laughed. Petting the dog and trying to sit up at the same time.
The three girls smiled as they came up to Anju. One girl laughed, "The dog must like you!"
Anju smiled, "Is he one of your pets?" she asked.
"No, he's a stray, our parents won't let us keep him." the other said. But looking at Anju closely she asked, "You don't look like you are from here."
Anju kept smiling, "Yeah, I'm not really. Just a traveler."
"Then you must get lonely!"
"Well I-"
"Yeah! You should keep the dog, he needs someone who will take care of him! But he looks like an adventure dog! You should keep him." They all seem to say at once, making them giggle when they realized it.
Anju just sat there on the ground, sitting petting the dog. But didn't know what to say to all of this. "Umm.."
"Whatcha gunna name him?"
"Umm, I don't know...Dog?"
"No, no, no! He needs a good name! If you can't think of one, name him after someone! That’s what people here do."
Anju stared up at the girls, a little shocked. But then smiled, "Alright. I'll name him, Jack."
They smiled, and of course asked. The big question. "Did you know someone named Jack?"
Anju just smiled and nodded her head and she petted the dog. "Yeah, I did. He was a great friend. I-i really liked him. But I was too stubborn and embarrassed to ever tell him."
"Oh, where is he now?"
"Gone."
;;;
Anju watched the sun go down. Her pale-green cat eyes looked bored. As if she had seen it to many times. But she heard the newly named Jack whine. She looked down at the white dog, which looked as if he just turn one, with little black spots all over his coat. His eyes were also the same color as Jack's. She smiled, even though she felt a tear run down her cheek. He whined again.
Smiling, she turned around, "Lets go, dog." in a happy voice. But the tears weren't stopping as she walked.
